Eilen Castellano Tatis joins JSH as an Associate Attorney in the Municipal and Employment Trial Group, where she will represent the state, counties, municipalities, water districts, and educational institutions, as well as private sector clients in all areas of employment-related legal matters. Eilen recently graduated from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, where she excelled academically and was actively involved in multiple student associations, including the St. Thomas More Society, Law Women’s Association, Latine Law Student Association, Justice Advocates Coalition, and the UA J. Reuben Clark Society.

Before pursuing her legal studies, Eilen earned her B.A. in National Security and English, graduating summa cum laude from Utah Valley University (UVU). Her dissertation, “The Mirabal Sisters and the End of the Era of Trujillato,” examined the pivotal role of the Mirabal Sisters in toppling a brutal dictatorship in the Dominican Republic. During her time at UVU, she was honored with the Champion of Inclusion Award, developed and launched the Wolverine Connect Network, and served on the University’s Presidential Search Board.

Eilen’s journey began in Santiago, Dominican Republic, a town where the highest level of education was middle school. Her life changed when her family moved to New York City, where she embraced new educational prospects. She began her legal career as a legal assistant at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, working in both the First Responders Bureau and the Homicide Bureau. There, she discovered her passion for blending criminal justice with homicide work.

While attending the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, Eilen further honed her legal skills at the Utah Attorney General’s Office. She conducted extensive legal research, drafted legal pleadings and motions, managed discovery matters, reviewed financial records, and formulated litigation strategies. Eilen also gained valuable trial experience as a Rule 39 Legal Intern at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, where she successfully conducted trials and various courtroom proceedings under the supervision of seasoned prosecutors.

Eilen brings a wealth of diverse perspectives and experiences to JSH Firm. Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and American Sign Language, she excels in communication and analytical thinking. In her free time, Eilen closely follows UFC & Major League Baseball. She enjoys dancing, traveling with friends and family, and cheering on the Arizona Diamondbacks.
