As a member of our Municipal & Employment Trial Group, Zak Kuchler represents the State, counties, municipalities, water districts, educational institutions, and private-sector clients in all areas of employment-related legal matters. He has experience defending clients against a broad range of claims brought under federal and state laws, including Title VII, the ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and the Arizona Employment Protection Act. Zak has successfully defended clients in EEOC/ACRD investigations, and has represented clients in alternative dispute resolution forums. In addition to employment litigation matters, Zak provides employment consultation services to public and corporate employers.

While attending the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, Zak served as a research aide and a graduate writing assistant, as well as the Executive Director of External Affairs for the Sports Law and Business Organization. As a legal intern for the Arizona Coyotes Hockey Club and for U-Haul International, he gained experience working on employment litigation and consultation, intellectual property, corporate governance, ADR, and other matters. Prior to going to law school, Zak served as an Auxiliary Officer in the Calgary Police Service, where he had the opportunity to participate in investigations, testify in court, and train in de-escalation tactics. His undergraduate degree is in Justice Studies from Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia.

During his free time, Zak enjoys hiking, playing hockey and golf, going to concerts, and spending time with friends.
