JSH litigation and ADR partner David S. Cohen served on a panel of experts to present on how health care professionals can handle COVID-19-related legal issues at the Arizona Health Care Association’s (AHCA) 2021 Convention & Expo in Scottsdale, Arizona, on July 27.

During the panel presentation, Legal Issues in a COVID-19 World, David discussed the impact of COVID-19 on health care facilities from both a litigation and regulatory standpoint. The panel provided guidance to health care professionals on how to handle COVID-19-related legal challenges, including litigation immunity, liability and survey issues. David also shared an update regarding CMS’ COVID Provider Relief Funds and other stimulus requirements and will offer an update on federal pandemic compliance waivers.

He was joined on the panel by John Checkett, the Checkett Law Firm and Jim Miles, Greenberg Traurig.


David S. Cohen maintains an active litigation practice and alternative dispute resolution practice where he represents every type of health care provider.
