Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, PLC is pleased to welcome law clerks Kennedy Allen, Michael Combrink, Alex Escobar, Nick Johnson, and Emily Mahana, to the Phoenix office.

Kennedy Allen joins the firm’s General Liability Trial Group after graduating from ASU’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. She will work with our partners handling personal injury, premises liability, and other claims for our clients.

In law school she served as the Associate Editor for Jurimetrics: The Journal of Law, Science, and Technology. Kennedy was a member of the Women’s Law Students Association, and worked with both the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Sun Devil Compliance Office. Her undergraduate degree is in political science with a minor in Philosophy of Law & Justice, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Michael Combrink recently joined the Automotive Trial Group, defending our auto and transportation insurer, motor carrier, product manufacturer and retail clients.

While attending the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, he was the Senior Articles Editor for the Arizona Journal of Environmental Law & Politics, and a member of the American Constitutional Society and Student Bar Association. His bachelor’s degree is in Arts, Anthropology & History (Northern Arizona University), and his M.P.A., specializing in Nonprofit Administration, is from ASU.

Alex Escobar is new to our Construction Law Trial Group, where he will focus on defending construction defect, personal injury, premises liability, and other matters.

Alex received his law degree from ASU’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, and two bachelor degrees from ASU as well (Criminal Justice/Criminality and Psychology). In 2019, he received the Victims’ Rights Award for ensuring victims are heard in court proceedings.

 

Nick Johnson will join the JSH Transportation Trial Group, where he will focus on trucking and transportation-related matters and other civil litigation.

Nick’s J.D. is from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, where he was a member of Los Abogados and served as a legal extern for the University’s Athletic Compliance Department. His bachelor’s degree (Marketing) is also from the University of Arizona.

 

Emily Mahana is a new addition to our Bad Faith & Professional Liability Trial Group. She will be assisting with our large insurance clients, professional malpractice claims, and other general civil litigation matters.

Emily received her J.D. from ASU’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, and her B.A. in History from BYU-Idaho. She has previously worked as a legal intern for a large healthcare communications group, as a judicial extern for the Honorable Diane J. Humetewa at the Arizona Federal District Court, and as a research assistant at ASU.
