Eilen Castellano Tatis is an associate in JSH’s Construction Defect and General Litigation Trial Group. She represents clients in the construction, retail, hospitality, insurance, and education industries in a wide range of complex civil litigation matters, including construction defect, premises liability, and personal injury claims.

Eilen earned her J.D. from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, graduating with distinction and active in several leadership organizations, including the St. Thomas More Society, Law Women’s Association, Latine Law Student Association, and the J. Reuben Clark Society. During law school, she gained significant litigation experience at the Utah Attorney General’s Office, where she conducted legal research, drafted dispositive motions, managed discovery, and assisted in trial preparation across a range of criminal matters. She sharpened her courtroom advocacy skills as a Rule 39 Legal Intern at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, where she successfully handling trials, evidentiary hearings, and motion practice under the supervision of seasoned prosecutors.

Before law school, Eilen graduated summa cum laude from Utah Valley University with a B.A. in National Security and English. Her dissertation, The Mirabal Sisters and the End of the Era of Trujillato, examined the pivotal role of the Mirabal Sisters in toppling a brutal dictatorship in the Dominican Republic. At UVU, she was honored with the Champion of Inclusion Award, founded the Wolverine Connect Network, and served on the Presidential Search Board.

Originally from Santiago, Dominican Republic, Eilen relocated to New York City with her family, embracing new educational opportunities that ultimately led to her career in law. She began her legal career as a legal assistant in the First Responders and Homicide Bureaus at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, where she gained hands-on experience in trial preparation, case management, and high-stakes litigation.

Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and American Sign Language, Eilen brings strong communication skills and cultural fluency to her practice. In her free time, she enjoys following UFC and Major League Baseball, traveling, dancing, and cheering for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
