Heather White has joined our JSH office in Utah, where she will be working on government and general liability matters. In addition, Heather devotes part of her practice to defending Utah hospitals, medical facilities, and providers, including EMS providers (both private and governmental) against malpractice claims, including catastrophic injuries and wrongful death claims.

Heather brings over 25 years of experience in defending government entities, and law enforcement officials in particular. Using negotiation and alternative dispute resolution, and litigation when necessary, she has successfully addressed complaints of premises liability, deprivation of civil rights, and personal injury. Heather has conducted multiple internal investigations involving alleged misconduct in police departments for various cities throughout the state of Utah. This included reviewing and assessing documents, conducting and assessing interviews, and analyzing policies and application of facts to them, and assessing controlling law, where appropriate. She has worked with and reported to various city and county councils, as well as their administrations, addressing policy issues related to their responsibilities to the public to help them in their decisions related to police officer and department issues. As part of her representation of officers, cities, and counties, she has come to be familiar with the various interests at play between officers, police administration, and city and county administrators, and city and county Council members, and has worked with them to try to harmonize and resolve their differences, wherever possible. Heather has further represented cities in employment related matters beginning with the administrative process and ultimately litigation where necessary.

Honored by organizations such as Martindale-Hubbell, Mountain States Super Lawyers, Utah Business Magazine, and others, Heather has shown herself to be an attorney of distinction.

In her spare time, Heather enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs, running, and watching sports.
