Jordan Velasquez

Jordan Velasquez is an associate attorney in JSH’s New Mexico Trial Group.
Before joining the firm, Jordan served as a judicial law clerk to Chief Justice Julie Vargas of the Supreme Court of the State of New Mexico. Jordan conducted legal research and analysis on complex civil and criminal appellate matters and drafted bench memoranda, decisions, and opinions for the Court. Prior to the clerkship, Jordan gained litigation experience handling civil rights and medical malpractice matters involving governmental entities, school districts, and hospitals.
Jordan earned a J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law, where Jordan served as Managing Editor of the Natural Resources Journal and Vice President of the Black Law Students Association. During law school, Jordan completed judicial externships with the Honorable David H. Urias of the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico and Justice Briana H. Zamora of the Supreme Court of the State of New Mexico, and served as a legal clerk with the City of Albuquerque Office of Civil Rights.
Jordan is admitted to practice in New Mexico and before the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico. Outside of work, Jordan enjoys long-distance running, culinary classes, reading history, and travel.
