Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, PLC is pleased to announce the addition of two associates, Mark Hodgson and Anne Holmgren.

Mark Hodgson joins the firm’s transportation, auto and products liability group. Before joining JSH, he gained legal experience as a law clerk at the Office of the Maricopa County Public Defender, as an extern for the Office of the Arizona State Legislative Counsel, and as a clinician in the Maricopa County Public Defender Clinic. Additionally, Mark worked as a legal extern with Judges Ronda Fisk and Pamela Svoboda in Maricopa County Superior Court.

During law school, Mark served as President of the ASU Law Moot Court Board, co-founded the ASU Law Government and Public Interest Law Students Association, and co-founded MAJORS|AZ (Management, Advocacy, Jurisprudence, Opportunity, Relationships, and Systems of Arizona Law and Policy). He was part of a trial advocacy team honorably mentioned by the National Trial Advocacy Competition, finished top 5 in the Oplinger Oral Argument Competition, and was a three-time finalist in the Jenckes Oral Argument Competition.

Mark earned his B.A. in Political Science and International Relations, with a Minor in Spanish Language, and certificates in National Security Studies and Latin American Studies. As part of his studies, Mark was accepted into a study abroad program at the Universidad de San Francisco in Quito, Ecuador. Also during his undergraduate studies, Mark served as Director of the Model United Nation program and elevated the program to a ranking of 5th in the nation.

Anne Holmgren focuses her practice in claims involving alleged medical malpractice, wrongful death, medical negligence, and vicarious liability in state and federal court. She represents physicians, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other healthcare professionals, including emergency medicine, critical care, orthopedic surgery, anesthesiology, pharmacology, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, radiology, and nursing.

Before joining JSH, Anne gained legal experience at Phoenix and Albuquerque defense firms focusing in the areas of commercial litigation, healthcare, medical negligence, and general defense. She also clerked for New Mexico Supreme Court Chief Justice Petra Jimenez Maes, and served as an attorney-advisor for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces in Washington, D.C.

Anne earned her law degree from the University of New Mexico. She participated in an exchange program at Howard University School of Law in D.C., worked as a summer associate at a New Mexico commercial litigation firm, and as a legal intern with the Office of the District Attorney, Community Crimes Division in the Second Judicial District.

While earning her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from George Washington University, Anne studied abroad at the Universidad de Chile and at Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos. Anne was accepted into the Criminal Law Internship Program, and worked as an intern investigator at the D.C. Public Defender Service. For four years, Anne worked as a legal intern at Gray Plant Mooty (now Lathrop GPM), the oldest continuing law practice in Minneapolis.
