Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, PLC is pleased to announce partner Justin Ackerman has been named member-at-large on the Arizona State Bar Appellate Practice Executive Council. Ackerman will act as a liaison between the Court of Appeals/Arizona Supreme Court and the State Bar.

“It is a great honor to be appointed to this very important position,” Ackerman said. “Participating on the executive council is a job that I will not take lightly as I look to recommend and support ways to improve the appellate process, disseminate information to the bar and public about the appeals process, and much more.”

A 2022 Southwest Super Lawyers Rising Star and a two-time Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch recipient, Ackerman will also play a role in providing a forum for appellate practitioners and judges to exchange ideas and concerns, conduct discussion groups on appeals process aspects, cultivate candidates for the appellate bench, and work with the Board of Legal Specialization and the Advisory Commission of the State Bar to develop guidelines for specialization as an appellate advocate.

Ackerman represents clients in federal and state appellate matters in cases involving excessive force, wrongful death, personal injury, bad faith, and premises liability.
