Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, PLC is pleased to announce it has welcomed Charles Benaza, Richard Brown, Isaac Gilbert, and Nicholas Spare as associate attorneys in its Phoenix office.

Meet each of the firm’s newest associate attorneys below.

Charles Benaza
Charles focuses his practice on automobile and transportation defense, and governmental and social host liability. He brings with him experience representing the State of Arizona in a wide variety of criminal cases as a Deputy County Attorney at the Pima County Attorney’s Office.

Charles earned his law degree from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, and his undergraduate degree from Menlo College in mass communications. Notably, Charles served in the United States Army for 11 years, retiring as a Staff Sergeant in 2016.

Richard Brown
Richard represents municipalities and retail companies as part of the firm’s Transportation, Automobile Products, and General Liability Trial Group. As a former Deputy County Attorney, he has experience in handling all stages of litigation, including jury and bench trials, evidentiary hearings, oral arguments, restitution hearings, and other felony and misdemeanor hearings.

Richard secured his Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah in political science.

Isaac Gilbert
Isaac focuses his practice on transportation defense in the firm’s growing Rapid Response Team. He successfully defends his clients – large trucking, transportation, and logistics companies – in and out of court, using his experience as an Assistant Attorney General in the Child and Family Protection Division of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.

Isaac earned his Juris Doctor from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University, with majors in history and literature and a minor in philosophy.

Nicholas Spare
As a member of the firm’s General Liability and Construction Defect Trial Group, Nicholas focuses his practice on defending clients in construction defect, automobile, contract, government liability, personal injury, product liability, and insurance defense cases.

Nicholas secured his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law and his Bachelor of Laws and German from the University of Dublin, Trinity College.
