Charles Benaza defends clients in a variety of liability matters, including everything from automobile and transportation defense to governmental and social host liability. He brings experience handling a busy docket and providing excellent client service.

Prior to joining the firm, Charles represented the State of Arizona in a wide variety of criminal cases – including misdemeanor bench trials, evidentiary hearings, felony pre-trial hearings and drug diversion cases – as a Deputy County Attorney at the Pima County Attorney’s Office.

While attending law school at University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, Charles worked as a summer law clerk and Rule 38(d) Certified Limited Practice student for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, specifically within the Gang Bureau of the Major Crimes Division.

Before attending law school, Charles served in the United States Army for 11 years, retiring as a Staff Sergeant in 2016. He completed multiple combat deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait in more than 10 years of continuous active-duty service. Charles was recognized with more than a dozen honors, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal and the Combat Action Badge.

In his spare time, Charles enjoys riding motorcycles, snowboarding, and playing the piano.
